This project involved taking a rundown 1892 warehouse on the Bowery and transforming it into five full floor luxury condominiums and adding a rooftop penthouse. Each floor became a separate two bedroom condominium and the top floor was duplexed up to the new penthouse master bedroom suite, becoming a three bedroom apartment. We took the warehouse’s industrial feel as a starting point and designed wonderful open loft floor plans. The living room, dining room, and kitchen spaces were left as an open-plan entertainment area, overlooking the Bowery. Quieter and more private bedroom spaces were kept towards the rear of the building. The contemporary design and the exposed brick of the old warehouse complement each other.
The master suites feature walk-through master closets with spacious wardrobes for hanging clothes, storage areas above, open shelves for folded clothing, and a window seat with built-in drawers below. The penthouse’s Brazilian hardwood roof deck creates a spectacular platform for entertaining and enjoying the skyline of Manhattan. The deck includes an eight person Jacuzzi tub, built in gas grill and a complete wet bar with outdoor refrigerator. Sitting in the Jacuzzi, you are treated to a view up Third Avenue stretching to the horizon.
